Begun in 1988 as a fifteen-member string ensemble, The Symphony of Rutherford County grew to a 60 member, all-volunteer orchestra. That number has ebbed and flowed over the years, and today we have approximately 50 volunteer members. We are a 501©(3) non-profit organization, governed by an elected board of directors.
We’re getting a new home!
But we need your help – The Symphony’s future home and event space will be in a historic RCS facility in Rutherfordton, which is being renovated to provide an inviting space for our dynamic musical ensemble. This space will provide us with a permanent rehearsal space that will be tailored to our needs as a large ensemble. Our fundraising efforts will continue so we can finish this amazing space.
