Kimple Raises The Performance Bar...
Musical Director, Wilbert Kimple, brings vast experience as lifelong music educator and professional musician to the symphony. In his fifth season as conductor the symphony is playing better than ever under his direction.

The Symphony of Rutherford County was founded in 1988, and has grown from a fifteen-member string ensemble to a full orchestra with over sixty volunteer members ranging in age from teenagers to octogenarians.

Our mission: to promote music and music education in our community.

The Symphony presents three public concerts annually, including our Children's Concert in November for fourth and fifth graders in the county schools. Wilbert Kimple is Music Director. We are fortunate to be able to use the beautiful Foundation Auditorium facilities at Isothermal Community College. All concerts are free to the public.

The Symphony rehearses Saturday mornings from late August through May at the First Baptist Church of Spindale. Interested in playing? Contact us for more information.

The Symphony of Rutherford County is a tax-exempt organization chartered under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. We are financed by donations from members and friends, as well as corporate donations and grants.
