Welcome to North Carolina’s Symphony of Rutherford County

Begun in 1988 as a fifteen-member string ensemble, the orchestra grew to a 60 member, all volunteer symphony, and that number has ebbed and swelled over the years.  We are governed by an elected board of directors, and funded by private monies from our members, the community, and grants.  We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so all contributions are tax-deductible, and GREATLY appreciated.  And we send thank you notes!

We always welcome new members, asking only that they commit to come to rehearsals and concerts, and practice as needed.  Although the expectation for performance level is high, the atmosphere is supportive and educational. Rehearsals are led in a professional and efficient manner, but there is still time for a bit of socializing and laughter, and the time flies by as fun and satisfying.

If you play an orchestral instrument, even if you’re rusty or just diving in to learn a new one, please consider coming to a rehearsal to check us out and maybe join us.  We’d love to have you.

We rehearse Saturday mornings during the school year from 10:00-12:00 at the First Baptist Church of Spindale:
105 E Wilson St.
Spindale, NC 28160

We hope to see you there!
